When o when will LinkedIn stop providing the message "I'd like to add you to my professional network on LinkedIn" by default? Now I always have to reply like this:

Most of the time, the people who want to connect to me are genuinely interested in having me in their network, and I guess it doesn't hurt to have many people in my own network, but it's annoying.

This was my response to a request that turned out to be genuine:

I didn't get any response on this follow-up question:

When I saw that this person was connected to many other people in my network, I asked two of them: "Do you know this person?" They said: "No, we don't know her, but we assumed we did because she was connected to so many other people in our network."

This is a real pain. Maybe I should stop using LinkedIn altogether.
